Only 45% of schools in rural areas and 45% of schools in urban areas offer computer science, compared to 79% in suburban areas.
Just 52% of NY high schools offer foundational CS compared to over 75% in New Jersey, Connecticut, Massachusetts, and Pennsylvania.
Only 561 schools in NY (40% of NY schools with AP programs) offered an AP Computer Science course in 2019-2020

This year, Computer Science Education Week will take place from December 9–15, 2024, with events and activities aimed at engaging students and educators in the world of computer science.
